1. Pharmaceutical name: Radix Notoginseng.
2. Latin botanical name:Panax notoginseng (Burk.) F. H. Chen.
3. Common Name:notoginseng root or pseudoginseng root.(San Qi)
4. Channels (meridians) entered: liver, stomach, large intestine.
5. Actions & Indications:Raw san qi can stop bleeding and can transform blood stasis. It can stop bleeding without causing blood clots. It is widely used in injury medicine as in broken bones, swelling, impact injuries. Cooked san qi can be used as tonic.
6.Medical Function: 
  1). Stop bleeding and anticoagulation: anticoagulation of platelets, promotes dissolving of fibrinogens, 
  2). Anti-inflammation
  3). Relieving pain
  4). Calming 
  5). Enhances the effects of adrenocortical hormone: regulate the metabolism of sugar.
